Get rid of your landline. If you have unlimited minutes on your cell phone, getting rid of the land line may be a good cost saving move. Landline's cost and average of $30 a month.
Or consider switching to a low-cost alternative like Magic-Jack or use Skype.
We have lots of small children at home, so for now we are keeping our land line, but your situation may warrant a change.
We have to have a landline for Wingnuts work, but we have one that is Internet based. We just switched from Vonage to Oomo and are saving even more. Our home phone costs just $4 a month :)
