$77, 25 used books, a dozen used DVDs, 10 2-liter bottles
of soda’s and about 20 used stuffed-animals. Add in 6 hours standing around in
90 degree heat and high humidity plus cranky husband and kids. No not a plot
for a sitcom or horror movie, just another Labor Day Fair at church.
77 dollars is what we spent at the used book/DVD sale and
on tickets for the kids to play games, that is how they won all that wonderful
colored sugar water, disguised as soda. Plus a bunch of lice-ridden stuffed
animals. I guess if you add in the gnats, mosquitoes and flies it was a bargain
at twice the price. The one year old has so many mosquito bites that he looks like Darth Maul from Star Wars...or maybe my sister in-law.
Maybe I can find a way to deduct the money spent from my
taxes.
Bacon! Bacon would have made the day tolerable.

You forgot pony rides and fried oreos! Labor Day Festival=big, bottomless money pit, but it was oh so much fun! My kids really miss it.
That's right. We usually skip the pony rides cause of the $$$ But Sam let the 3 year-old ride it this year, she is getting soft..
No fried Oreos this year!!! Sam was very disappointed.
I just figure each year its gonna cost me between $60-$100 and its basically a donation to the church, so I don't mind the money part that much. It's all the soda and stuffed animals that are now at my house that I can do with out.
I was gonna throw all the stuffed animals into an unlocked mini-van in the church parking lot when we left the fair, but Mrs Sardonic wouldn't let me
