Today’s Pet Peeve is brought to you by Satan.
Have you ever gotten bored during Mass and browsed through the hymnals? (not that I would ever do that) But what is up with hymnals having song #666 in there? Isn’t that like hotels having a 13th floor? Or airlines having flight #13 or #666?
We have a few hymnals at our church and two of them have song #666 in them. One song is “Only Begotten, Word of God Eternal” and the other is “Change Our Hearts”.
Like those two songs will ever get song at our church. What choir or folk group director is going to announce; “and our communion song is number 666”? I mean unless of course I was choir director.
Shouldn’t the song books just be numbered 664, 665, 667, etc........

Check out the song books at SH this weekend. You will see those 2 songs. It’s really false advertising is what it is. The songs should probably be “Sympathy for the Devil” by the Stones and “Friend of the Devil” by the Dead or maybe “Running with the Devil” by Van Halen
Ha! And here's yet another one...
our microwave is possessed, really! It just shuts off and fails to work even when plugged in and it reads "666"!
