Tip of the Day

Newly married and just starting out? Live on one salary and bank the other. This gives you options if one person loses a job or if you start a family and mom becomes a stay at home mom.

We did this when first married. We saved Sam's salary and lived on mine. So it was financially painless when she stopped working after 9 months of marriage when she had our first child.

We did that too. That is how we paid off all my student loans and car and saved a lot of money our first year of marriage.
