US Open 2008

Congrats to Roger "Great Name" Federer on winning the US Open for the 5th year in a row and for winning his 13th Major. 1 shy of record holder Pete Sampras 14.

As a side note. Has anyone ever seen Joaquin Phoenix, the Emperor in Gladiator and Mel Gibson's little brother in Signs, in a room at the same time? I'm not saying...I'm just saying.

Joaquin is a great actor then, because his backhand is brutal!

I think it is safe to say that Mr. Federer will go down in, not only, the annals of tennis history, but also of the great Roger's of all-time. :)

What do you think of Lance trying the Tour de France next year? Will they let him?

Rober the Great - Joaquin could have used that backhand when fighting Russell Crowe at the end of Gladiator.

I don't know, Lnace is 36. That's pretty old in cycling years. I imagine if he's really seriuos at it and trains like he used to, he could make a could showing of it. First he has to find a team that wants him and one that wants him to be a leader. I wouldn't think he would come back as a supporting cast member. I think he would want to try and win it again.
Hopefully it wont be a MJ with the Wizards or a Willie Mays stumbling around the outfield.
But hey if he wants to...I say go for it. Cycling could use the publicity. Regular people don't pay much attention to cycling with him gone.
