Interesting Day so far. I had toyed with the idea of picking the third ranked Djokovic. Sure glad I didn't. He was upset today in straight sets by the #75 player in the world Marat Safin, 6-4, 7-6, 6-2.
Mary Margaret and her pick of a possible upset by the Russian Hottie Safin is sure making her look like a genius. I'll be sure to track Mr. Safin's progress from here on out.
And yes MM, a Nadal vs. Safrin final would be just fine with me. If nothing else it would make all the ladies happy to have all that eye-candy on the court at the same time.

I AM a genius, really I am! (Actually, I didn't think Marat could string 2 wins together at Wimbledon, but let's just stick with the genius notion, shall we?)
I have been a fan of Marat since around 1999, and it's hard to be a fan of that man. He has a beautiful game (yeah, the rest of him is pretty, too) but he'll break your heart. He is perfectly capable of losing in the next round to Seppi, believe you me. It all depends on whether good Marat or very, very bad Marat shows up. Good Marat has a tremendous second serve, power off both wings, very nice touch on volleys and dropshots and one of the best backhands in tennis. Bad Marat serves many double faults, sprays forehands like toothpaste spit and completely loses focus as soon as something (anything) goes wrong. When he's good, he's very, very good; but when he's bad he's horrid!
BTW, I love your blog. I've read all your archives and you make me laugh. A husband and father that actually loves his vocation is a beautiful thing, indeed.

I'm so late in commenting. The "Nolife" has too much chores to do before blogging, this week. At the end of the next week I 'll be on holidays, and I'll catch up.
(Un)fortunately, we don't receive the channel that broadcasts Wimbledon! I don't miss time watching, but I would like to. French televised media ignore sports that don't bring back audience or money or medals. We can follow on TV sports that are praticized in France (Roland Garros, tour de France), swimming (hourra), Judo (???) or fencing ; (
But as soon as we don't have a chance to win, it's finish.
We don't have the channel for Wimbledon (in live), or we can follow it on an other channel with 1 or 2 days-lag!
